training has begun re-! Start Training! The recommencer!

So, when I awoke on Monday morning at 4:30 am with a terrible dream, it was clear that you can start again, it must be! The breaks always frustrate me, because I think I'm much too little, until I start again and feel that it took just that. The 3KG extr body weight, the glasses of wine, chocolate, lazy weekends ...

On Monday I immediately had to start with 75 minutes of power, each with 30''to 90''power and speed intervals, alternating 15 minutes on the spinning bike and 15 minutes on the treadmill. Tuesday then 65 minutes running band intervals increase the maximum speed of 16.5 km. I can not currently reach 18.5, but was very happy that it went so well .... Finally, I really almost no running training made the last 5 months.

Yesterday I then paused, for the entry must indeed be too hardcore not the same. Today good 40 minutes basis and then a leg strengthening program that I get to feel safe tomorrow. I exercise now more muscle-specific in the open and then chain functional, specially designed inline skating again ;-) Welcome back, I tell my quads! Thought he would be emigrating!

student life is loose, you mean? How many times have I heard after my dismissal from Actelion, I'm certainly mainly study in order to train during the day anymore. Unfortunately, the opposite is the case! I come to almost nothing. I'm almost a little frustrated because I can see that the thigh muscles regresses. I'm used to it follows me to eat a lot that I have to pull myself together correctly. I have however been made, now endure yet. Hopefully then runs my 3rd Mainstay even better (financially) and I can work something technically resign ...

But, knee and hip are now treatable! Prompt has anyone reported a problem in my relationship with ... I look forward to my physio future. Definitely the right move!

Yeah, I think I need to rename my blog short because I just do not get enough to train. It is currently more passive training with adductor courses, joint mobilization and leg axes. I really hope that everything I earn money to study and can reconcile and find more time for training. Yesterday I went to the Work went to Basel ... there are always many hours "off".

So, something personal to my regular readers. David: Be glad, so happy that you made the move to Canada and you finally MUD BIKE have risen. Then we do next year with the Basel Bike Challenge! I have to defend a personal best ;-)

Roman: I hope your hip has coped with the marathon. Are you satisfied with 2:39? Super Power

So, tonight I massage the first time a non-fellow students, next week I have my first customer. It's going well ... The massage table is ordered and comes in early December. Maybe then I massage on Spinning Winterthur Marathon ...

We currently go through strength building, yesterday I tried my local "ass" carbohydrate storage times to empty and 5x40 repetitions Leg press made ... Well, in the last series I've managed only 32nd Madness may go up as the pulse when you make such a slow exercise. I will expand the system now look at the whole muscle and see how it goes. It is a completely new dimension - every time you have 2x in a row completed a successful training, the weight must be increased.

I am now so extensive endurance, intense strength endurance, hypertrophy and bodybuilding times put in the way we learn and you see where I stand in January ;-)

The study is still makes me mad fun. The purse was ever fat, but the head and heart are still in the thing, so it was probably the right decision. At the weekend there will be snow, because I will probably go back finally jog in the White ... looking forward mi!!

Why no training details or what from past mistakes to learn

Well, last year I made three weeks complete rest and found a serious re-entry to training. So I decided to make this year free to take one month and after struggling with muscle wasting and also some functional limitations a new attempt to start.

So, I officially have my title changed from ZERO TO IRON MAN IN 4 YEARS. Why? Next year, there are no Gigathlon, I do not currently make Iron Man and now I have to a great goal, the 2009 contest Gigathlon (2 days) as a single. If all goes well, I drive in the spring of 2009 during the fourth training period on a long road and Mallorca back massage, then I have enough basis for this endeavor ... So, stay tuned ;-)

Sport - exercise - Training - Training Objectives

I have now found a good rhythm and I just focusing on the winter training. Since I fly to South Africa but now over Christmas, New Year's Marathon is from ... perhaps even more so, because the added pressure I do not need training right now. I am eagerly at Body Pump, Spinning, running, mountain biking and road cycling (thanks to Lupine again Saturday by 22 clock ...) and enjoy it, I slow my extra pounds in recent months so again but steadily abstrample!

I admit that I'm doing almost no exercise session in which my thoughts away from training through to the muscles, the Nevensystem hinwandern and the like. I think the next few months will be marked by movement and not simply of pulse-controlled Trainin ...

The only thing that is really too short, is the swimming ...

How do you learn best the anatomy of the knee, asks the prospective physical therapist? You sit on a recumbent bike in the gym, read the descriptions of the rotation possibilities, the muscle-tendon structure and the complaints and then try again and again while kicking or standing still these to be identified. Logically, this is not the best form of training, but now sometimes the only one for which I find time. But then after that I trained very concentrated strength training! Yes, the study of the training is very much more difficult, but it's all good!

The best women's time I'm at the Basel Bike Challenge went out .... At the finish I was in the absolute high and now, 4 weeks later, the wounds are healed, if the scars are left. Unfortunately I had with the two conferences and the many errands in Winterthur, the study also tied together, not always the right motivation to get ready for Berlin or Stoneman. There was priat also a few I have unfortunately deprived of energy. So I've decided to drop the Stoneman.

Berlin has now unfortunately done since I got my first exam on Friday. If anyone still needs a good room ... notify you.

I begin again to slowly increase my training workload. Whether I may have a fall marathon or doing the New Year's run, I still see ... I was not even exceptionally under pressure.

Winterthur is absolutely awesome bike to ride!

have Under the Basel I Bruggelauf the way to the blog no longer found it so good. I was frustrated that I have given up, not the switch in the head by moving could, although I ran the first 5 KM in the perfect time ... long ago and we have to leave the frustrations. I was able to extend its lead steadily, although I am still driven only in the last third alone and realized I had just that my rear tire has a profile more. If the wheel is spinning when moving off the mountain despite my kilos!! Oh dear!

My left side is completely scratched and blue-purple, but it's nothing bad happens. The MTB's just crazy fun to me and now I will probably go safely back to race. At Stoneman in Aidlingen it is fortunately one of the 5 disciplines!

I am right now but rather is clamped, making the training and I get a little too short in view of Berlin is preparing a little concern. We will see ...

time has come. Since 1.4. I visited no more running event. Back then, the Freiburg half marathon, I was very sleepy and cold. Today unausgschlafen just because I had to pretty much a "non-sporting" week, as I soon went to bed because this 16KM would be. BAZE rocked on the raft on the Rhine so correctly, and then I have enjoyed the summer night on the Rhine - without alcohol, of course!

now is the road bike to the station, where I will include it. Then, at the start and after the 16 KM I go by bike to Baden, where I have arranged for a tour. Subsequent swimming in the river included. Why after a run? Excellent training effect, even if the first KM pain safely. So, let's see what he is today in my legs. After a very short, restless night with terrible dreams and terrible rain, I was almost glad when it was 5:30 and I get up "allowed". From then on I was able during the entire course again and again to attach to passing groups or groups break up, so I followed the quick and offered me then as a single Starterin slipstream. I thanked Mallorca - the bite at the level of the 6 weeks I have been in the wind! It was great - the exact times are not yet published, unfortunately.

The change to the MTB was also good and partly because the track on tarmac at the beginning but was very wind-exposed, I grabbed the same one fast team starter and hung on. On all departures, I made many good places ... and 7km to the tar road, which I had to go on the way back on the MTB, I could attach a racing driver, whose team was very late on the road - perfect. My time was thus again reasonably well and Silvia (good friend from Frankfurt) and your friend Alex informed me that I 5th would be the 4th and runner has 10 minutes ahead.

Now I know me too well and know that I can bring on a 11km run course no woman with a 10 minute lead. During the first 4km I had incredible back pain, but I could keep the pace somewhat, but had to walk between them. From KM 5, it went steadily uphill, and finally I almost wish it would have been a half marathon to get single number 4!

congratulated the finish me then 2 single women and informed me that I am third or 4 was because they fall into the senior class. So I am Bodensee achieved my first podium and I firmly made:

- More body workout
- Consistent swimming and definitely a swimming club in Winterthur
- losing weight - if I can get with so many extra pounds this performance, I am I now really guilty in this regard to bite our teeth!

What comes next? Marathon preparation Inline technique training and the end of August, a sprint triathlon. When I'm mad again, I'm on 9.9. Stoneman on Challenge in Germany - Inline, road bike, mountain bike, cross country and normal course ... good preparation for the marathon as only the leg work ...

gigathlon challenge - summary in English

So, the Gigathlon almost seems a little distant with all things packed to travel to Lake Constance for the Megathlon thesis ;-) names sometimes make it sound like a lot more than it seems to me ...

The Gigathlon 2 weeks ago was a brilliant experience for Roman (who had never participated) and myself, Despite the terrible weather during the second part of Day 1 as well as the entire Day 2. It is all a matter of equipment, stamina and psychology to get through this well for two days. For longer periods, it does get very physical, but I believe that the body can adjust quite well to such gruesome conditions during a shorter period of time.

Roman swam much faster than anticipated, which brought me onto the inline skates in Basel already at 07.40 in the morning and enabled me a speedy ride to Bad Säckingen as I found some good skaters to form a train with... Quite slippery for the last 7km, and contrary to my normal behavior, I decided to skate alone and careful to be sure NOT to have to do the rest of the gigathlon with open ellbows or knees ;-)

In the transition area, Denise the supporter had just packed away all my materials as it had rained ;-) I got in my Roy Hinnen gear on (looks just great in all black and gold ;-) and started the ascent towards the black forest - 23km uphill. I felt great and could cycle with a guy i once had a blind date with, so lots of catching up to do... The 96km ride was just awesome and I was happy to have done a recon tour so that I knew exactly how I could push the limits, especially on descents. Near Schaffhausen, we transitioned to MTBiking, where Roman was actually late because the complex shuttle system (13'000 active persons were involved in the Gigathlon) was delayed due to traffic jams.

Gaby (the second supporter) and I took the shuttle to Winterthur. While Roman hit the dirt in pouring rain, I ate my boiled potatoes, Biberli and proteins on the bus and told Gaby of my first Gigathlon adventures and joys. In Winterthur, I had a very slow start on foot uphill in the forst towards the aiport of Dübendorf. The half marathon was quite demanding with a couple of hundred of steps to climb, hilly paths and for my taste a shortage of drinking possibilites. As I felt the need to eat some energy gels, I was quite thirsty during the second part of the race. You often end up seeing the same persons at several points of a gigathlon day, and it always makes for nice little chats to see how others are doing. I was happy to had stuck to my time estimate of 2hrs 30' with the many climbs... In Dübendorf, the tents had already been built up by the rest of the team, the shower and massage were waiting and we went out for dinner nearby. My diet after Day 1 Gigathlon: 1L Applejuice/mineral, salad, plate of pasta, half a pizza and a GREAT coffe ;-) I would lie to you if I said that I didn't have a bit of chocolate to finish it off ;-)

For those who are interested in how I spent the last week training before the Gigathlon:
Sunday: Start Gigathlon
Saturday: 900m Swim with 6x 25m fast, 25m medium
Friday: rest day, massage
Thursday: 25 min max speed bike, 35 min run, of which 15 min speed
Wednesday: 1.5km swim (wanted 2.5km, but the water was too cold and I didn't have a wet suit)
Tuesday: biked 60km trying to find the mountain bike trail for the gigathlon ... completely mentally and physically straining
Monday: rest day
